Membership Orientations start one and a half hours before the Area Meeting. Members who have paid their $50 initiation fee are eligible for a $25 refund by attending the Orientation. Those who wish to attend an Orientation MUST register for it by calling Local 1059 (614.237.7671).

The Letter Carriers’ Union and the UFCW partner for the biggest single-day food drive in the country, Stamp Out Hunger. Here’s how it works:

1. Fill a paper or plastic bag with canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned tuna, peanut butter, canned soup, pasta/pasta sauce, or cereal. These are the kinds of healthy non-perishable items hungry families need.
2. On May 10, put your bag of non-perishable food by your mailbox for your letter carrier. Be sure to leave it out with plenty of time before normal mail delivery to be sure your letter carrier sees it!

Not all postal routes are serviced by the Letter Carriers’ Union. The Stamp Out Hunger food drive covers parts of Zanesville, Columbus, Toledo, Lima, Mansfield, Portsmouth, Marion, Newark, Lancaster, and Jackson.
