Being a member of UFCW Local 1059 confers many benefits. Below are several of the benefits offered in cooperation with the Local 1059 Executive Board. Remember, it PAYS to be a member!

Membership Assistance Program
Sometimes hardships befall us suddenly and without warning. The UFCW Local 1059 offers the Membership Assistance Program to help members and their families get through trying times. Benefits include:

  • Members who have completed their probationary period may receive hardship assistance in cases such as flood damange, house fires, etc.
  • A $500 death benefit is available to the beneficiary after one year of membership.

Car Seat Program
Local 1059 will provide one car seat to the parent of a newborn child. To qualify for the car seat, one of the parents must have one year of continuous service prior to the birthdate of the newborn child and provide a copy of the child’s birth certificate.

Commemorative Bible
Upon the death of a member, the UFCW Local 1059 offers a Bible and our condolences to grieving family members. Spouses, children, siblings, and parents of the member are eligible to receive the commemorative Bible. Various denominations are available to mark the passing of members from different faiths.

Membership Orientation Refund
Local 1059 members who attend a Membership Orientation meeting can collect $25 back from their initiation fee. In order to receive the refund, members must have completed their probationary period and paid their $50 initiation fee in full before attending the meeting.
