The Active Ballot Club (ABC) is the way UFCW Local 1059 fights for a government and laws that support the issues important to working families. This voluntary political fund enables Local 1059 to effect change everywhere from the statehouse to the White House and further the interests of working people. Workers are under attack from big corporations and their allies in government. In 2012 alone, businesses outspent working families by a 19-1 margin. Greedy\u00a0CEOs are funneling unprecedented money to state politicians favoring so-called “Right to Work” bills that weaken workers’ ability to negotiate for the safety, pay, training and benefits in their workplace. At the national level, corporate money has funded anti-worker politicians who have prevented a long-overdue increase in the national minimum wage. ABC is a voluntary weekly contribution UFCW members can use to help working Ohioans fight back. With a support level of 50\u00a2 or $1.00 each week, we can support the issues and candidates that will treat workers and their families with the fairness and respect they deserve.
